Geoff

Geoff Gorsuch: Winemaker & Vice President
Geoff Gorsuch, a native of the Los Angeles suburbs, is a graduate of California State University at San Diego. Initially, his professional pursuits included the possibility of a career in flying and law enforcement.

In 1978 the Gorsuch family planted the Goosecross Estate vineyard. While deciding upon which career path to follow, Geoff moved to Napa to help his parents at the Goosecross Estate. One thing literally led to another and he found himself immersed in the wine business! To enhance his talent and natural winemaking ability, he has completed postgraduate work in Oenology and Viticulture at the University of California at Davis.

Geoff's experience features total hands-on practices in successful vineyard and winery operations for the past 18 years. Geoff became Winemaker for Goosecross in 1990 and has earned an enviable track record of quality and consistency during that time. As the manager of the vineyard and all winery operations, it's clear that his heart and soul are in the vineyard and in making ultra-premium Goosecross wines. Geoff is Winemaker, Vice President of Operations and a Director of the Company.

David

David Topper: President and CEO
David Topper was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin and then on to New York at age 6. He moved to Southern California in time to finish high school in La Jolla, then attended California State University at San Diego (where he met his college roommate, now business partner, Geoff Gorsuch). David earned his Degrees in Psychology and taught statistics and personality theory at SDSU (as a TA) while working full-time as an auto mechanic and in the food/hotel service industry.

After graduation, he built a successful career in sales, sales management, and marketing in the computer industry spanning hardware, software, computer-aided software engineering tools, advanced networks and systems integration. His entrepreneurial spirit and skills were developed with start-up companies such as Lanier Business Products, NBI Inc., Interleaf Inc., Interactive Development Environments (IDE), and Frame Technology.

David is one of the original investors in the Goosecross Winery. In 1993 he took a huge step with Geoff Gorsuch and gained majority interest in Goosecross Cellars, a California Corporation. David is President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Company. In addition, David is Webmaster for Goosecross.

Colleen

Colleen Topper: Hospitality & Public Relations
Colleen was raised in Northern California. She grew up on nine acres of land occupied by redwood trees, apple trees, a creek, a few cows and several other animals. It was here that she learned to appreciate nature, work hard and to love life.

In her junior year of high school, she decided to take the GED/Proficiency Exam and finished a year early. After completing her AA in Liberal Arts she attended Loyola Marymount University where she earned her Bachelors Degree. She continued at Loyola to complete teaching proficiency and earn her California Teaching Credential. Her teaching experience includes elementary, high school and adult education.

Her life and career path took an interesting twist in 1994 when she boarded an airplane in Los Angeles and met David Topper. She joined the team at Goosecross Cellars, as a Hospitality Representative with an interest in wine (although she originally professed her preference for beer).

Since then, her appreciation of the environment, willingness to learn, love of meeting people, exceptional organizational abilities, teaching skills, and positive attitude have made her shine at the winery and throughout the industry. Colleen was promoted to Director of Hospitality in 1995. In 1998, Colleen was promoted once again to include the position of Director of Public Relations.

Colleen, now a true convert to fine wines, authored the Goosecross Wine Basics Class® and is a resident source for many questions regarding wine and wine appreciation. Colleen assists our Director of Education, Nancy Hawks Miller in the development of additional wine education programs for our visitors.

Colleen and David Topper were married on June 13, 1998 at the Goosecross winery.
